The Adolescent Pregnancy and Parenting Services (APPS) Program is a resource for mothers below the age of 20. APPS provides pre-natal education and support for pregnant girls and parenting education and support to teen mothers and fathers. In addition to education, the program provides linkage and case management to pre-natal care and other medical services, the Bi-County Health Department, WIC, public aid, and educational resources like GED, alternative education, or vocational education.
Services are provided on an outreach basis with workers visiting teen moms in their homes and occassionally providing transportation as needed to important appointments. While in services, our clients learn about how to safely deliver a child and the basics of care and feeding of their new babies. The program periodically offers support groups, recreation, and other socialization opportunities for young parents to interact and learn.
