Children's Outpatient Services is a program that serves, children, adolescents, and their families in Franklin and Williamson counties. The eligible popluation includes any child from age 3 years to age 18 years (if still in school) who has a DSM IV diagnosis indicating a serious emotional disturbance. The Illinois Department of Mental Health has designated a target population and a priority population that our program will serve. most of the clients are Medicaid eligible and are served under Medicaid Rule 132.
Children's Outpatient Service is the primary service offered to the 6 to 11 year old population. The staff is trained in a variety of therapeutic methods that meet the needs of this young age group. All staff members have experience with play therapy, behavioral approaches, parent/child techniques, etc. The staff also works with youth over age 11 using a variety of therapeutic approaches, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, anger management, DBT, etc. All staff providing therapy services have Master's Degrees and most of them are clinically licensed. Services provided include:
- Individual, Family, and Group Therapy
- School Consultation
- Psychiatric Referral
- Consultation with Other Providers
- Case Management Services
Each office used by the clinical staff is equipped with a sand tray, a variety of toys and games, and child-sized furniture and equipment.
