Emergency/Crisis

The H Group provides crisis intervention 24 hours for every day of the week.  The emergency therapists are readily available to assess individuals, couples, family members, and/or significant others who may be having trouble with a variety of issues such as substance abuse issues, family conflicts, suicidal ideations, emotional and mental health issues, adjusting with grief issues, marital issues, etc. The emergency therapists are also readily available to assist family members or significant others who are concern or have a question about the behavior and/or actions about another family member or significant other.

Here is the procedure for a person or family member who may need to talk with an emergency therapist from The H Group:

  • If you or a family member is in crisis during daytime business hours, you or a family member may either call or walk-in to the West Frankfort office or either of the Marion sites to speak with an emergency therapist.

  • If you or a family member is in crisis after business hours or over the weekend, you or a family member may go directly to the nearest emergency room of the local hospital or go to the nearest police department and an emergency therapist will perform an evaluation at either location.

  • If you or a family member is threatening or contemplating suicide, harm to another person, or domestic violence, there needs to be an immediate call made to 911.  Once the individual is in a safe environment, an emergency therapist will be called to perform and evaluation.
