The Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBOP) Halfway House serves referred clients who are either serving the last six months of incarceration in a community based setting to allow for reintegration in the community or as a community corrections placement where individuals are sentenced for primarily drug-involved crimes, violations of probation, or pre-trial detention. If treatment needs are identified at intake, the client is then placed in appropriate individual, educational group and therapy group services as indicated by the assessment and individual service plan. There is a five level system used to determine privileges such as social passes. Clients who progress through the level system and meet FBOP criteria can be placed on home confinement.
