Intensive Outpatient Treatment

Intensive Outpatient Treatment (IOP) is offered to adults age 18 and older who meet admission criteria and are experiencing significant impairment in functioning due to a substance use disorder.  IOP is offered 3-5 days per week for 3-4 hours per day and includes didactic groups, therapy groups and individual sessions.  Didactic groups and therapy groups cover a wide range of issues and topics such as drug and alcohol education, Matrix early recovery skills, Matrix relapse prevention, Matrix social support groups, treatment readiness, managing emotions, the effect of chemical dependence on families and relationships, relapse prevention, improving health and wellness, improving communication and problem solving skills, and developing a sober support system.  (Matrix refers to an evidence based structured approach to recovery)
