Screening Assessment & Support Services

Screening Assessment and Support Services (SASS) is an intense ninety day for any youth that is age 20 or younger and is at immenent risk of psychiatric hospitalization, or is returning from a residential treatment facility (due to SED problems), or has been deflected from inpatient treatment and has public funding.  Entry into the SASS program must begin with a referral from the CARES line.

The SASS program has three primary goals:

  • To provide screening, assessment, and treatment of any child who may be at risk of psychiatric hospitalization and who is eligible for public funding.
  • To enhance access to coordinated, community-based mental health services either in lieu of or following inpatient care or screening.
  • To effectively link families and guardians to the appropriate level of care to meet the mental health needs of the child.

A SASS Therapist, Case Manager, and Family Resource Developer work together as a team to best meet the youth and family's needs.
