"I made a commitment to myself to do whatever it took to not ever be like I once was. I buckled down and did any class, I admitted myself into institutional treatment, and then when I finally came out of prison there was this place called "The H Group" that was willing to take somebody like me that was sick, devastated, hopeless, and unknown to the right way of life. I guess I knew how to live and what the right way was, I just didn't know how to get there.
So now that I am a college student and I have had the same job for over a year and I am really on the last leg of my short term goals. I mean I am going to college to be a social-worker; to be able to help other people. The pendulum has swung on the complete other end of life for me. I don't run down addiction. I mean, I am running as hard towards recovery as I was towards the dope I was looking for. The things I would like to say to The H Group themselves, to anybody and everybody that's involved with The H Group, whether it be the people that donate the money or fund the money; THANK YOU! The H Group saved my life. And I will always be thankful for that."
